18 donors from Plovdiv and the country received special certificates from the ambassador of Ukraine, Olesya Ilashchuk. Natalia Ellis and her husband Vlad Ellis were the first to be honored by the Ukrainian Embassy. This happened at a ceremony in “Dimitar Georgiev” museum gallery on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
Among the most prominent donors who supported the initiatives for the reception and social adaptation of Ukrainian refugees are Tanya Georgieva from BCHK-Plovdiv, Borislav Stamatov, ombudsman of Plovdiv, representatives of companies and citizens.
The businessman Miroslav Ivanov from Vratsa is among the most zealous donors of the Second Home in Plovdiv, emphasized Natalia Ellis.
The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Plovdiv, Dimitar Georgiev, emphasized that Ukraine is waging a national war, a war that will make them members of the great European family. Georgiev recalled the establishment of the Second Home in the former lung hospital, with donations to the municipality, businesses and the citizens of Plovdiv.
Among the donors is Stoyan Yotov, who works in a large concern from Germany, which has an office in Plovdiv. He also received a diploma from Ambassador Ilashchuk.
Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov said that Plovdiv is a unique example of a partnership with the Natalia Ellis Foundation for the reception of refugees from Ukraine and their successful socialization in Bulgaria.
The ceremony was attended by the regional governor of Plovdiv, Iliya Zyumbilev, as well as intellectuals and members of the public.
