He obtained a degree in landscape architecture in Prague /1918/ and specialized in Munich under Prof. Hans Hoffman. He produced drawings, watercolour and oil paintings. His début was in landscapes and figural compositions. Later, his original plastic style was conceived, drawing on surrealism and abstract art.
Pascin, Jules

A Bulgarian-born French painter, He attended the Munich art school under Prof. Moritz Heinemann. He also studied at the Art Academy in Berlin. Pascin painted a large body of portraits and cityscapes, as well as watercolour paintings, cartoons and etchings, intended mainly for periodicals.

He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1940/ under Prof. Boris Mitov. He produced works in all paintings genres. His works are noted for their characteristic sophisticated colour palette and generalized forms.
Peevski, Ivan

He graduated from the NAA /1950/. He painted mostly landscapes with scenes from the Balkan Mountains, portraits and figural compositions.
Peretz, David Avram

He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1932/ under Prof. Dimitar Gyudzhenov. He specialized in painting in Paris /1947/ under André Lhote. After 1948, he settled down in Paris. He is one of the three “Hounds”. In Bulgaria, he left a vast artistic legacy from the 1930s and 40s in all painting genres. During his Parisian period, he produced paintings and graphics in the field of abstract arts.
Petkov, Nayden Stefanov

He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1942/ under Prof. Nikola Ganushev. His paintings are noted for striking genre versatility and a strong individual style in plastics. He often employed a moderate colour palette. An exquisite colourist.
Petrov, Aleksandar Nikolov

He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1940/ under Prof. Boris Mitov. A war artist during WWII. He produced figural compositions and landscapes with a characteristic decoration manner, light colour palette and generalized forms.
Petrov, Iliya Nikolaev
*1903 — 1975†
He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1926/ under Prof. Nikola Marinov. He specialized at the private school of Heinrich Mann /1926 – 1928/. Petrov was appointed rector of the NAA /1966-1968/. His works are realistic, with large-scale ideas and plastic execution.

(Nikola Petrov Vodnyanski)

He studied painting at the NAA under professors Ivan Angelov and Yaroslav Veshin, graduating /1913/ under Prof. Ivan Mrkvička. He produced portraits, landscapes, illustrations and religious paintings. Vodnyanski was one of the pioneers and most prominent representatives of the Bulgarian landscape painting tradition.
