Udo, Rolan

A representative of the so-called “painters of poetic reality”. A remarkable last-century French artist, who refrained from his peers’ modern experiments in the 1920s and 30s, and remained faithful to his appreciation of the pastoral aspect of nature and French lifestyle.


Urumov, Petar Andreev

*1895 1978†

He graduated from the NAA under Prof. Ivan Mrkvička /1919/ and obtained a degree in painting under Prof. Tseno Todorov /1927/. Between 1935 and 1945, he lived in Budapest. Landscapes, genre compositions and still lifes made up his body of work. His paintings were characterized by synthesis of form and expressive tonal harmony.


Uzunov, Dechko Hristov

*1899 1986†

He obtained a degree in painting from the NAA /1919/ under Prof. Petko Klisurov. He studied painting at the Art Academy in Munich /1922-1923/ under Prof. Carl von Marr. He graduated from the NAA /1924/ under Prof. Stefan Ivanov. Uzunov worked in all paintings genres. He is was artist with a strong individual style, noted for his sharp eye for colours, psychological depth and vast sensitivity. He used oil paints and watercolours.
