Tasev, Atanas

He attended the NAA and later continued his education in Prague /1920 – 1924/, where he eventually settled down and produced a large body of portraits of his prominent contemporaries. In 1947, he went to Sweden, and later the United States. He spent the last years of his life in Bulgaria. Tasev produced landscapes, portraits and figural compositions, reflecting urban and rural lifestyle. His works were characterized by precise brushstrokes, an impressionist manner and balanced colour palette.
