On the day of the National Holiday of Bulgaria, March 3, museum gallery “Dimitar Georgiev” in Plovdiv opened . The gallery presents part of the collection of the famous patron Dimitar Georgiev.
Among the numerous guests at the opening were the Mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov, the Chairman of the Committee on Culture in the 44th National Assembly Vezhdi Rashidov, Deputy Regional Governor Evelina Apostolova, the Chairman of the Municipal Council – Plovdiv Alexander Darjikov, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archeology and tourism Plamen Panov, His Eminence Bishop Arseniy of Znepol, the Mayor of Plovdiv in the term 2011-2019 Ivan Totev, the fascinating narrator and author of books Dimitar Pampulov, collectors, diplomats, artists and close friends of Dimitar Georgiev.
The first to greet the audience was Prof. Dr. Emilia Konstantinova – manager of the gallery. Afterwards, the owner Dimitar Georgiev told how and when the seed of collecting was sown in it and expressed his gratitude to the people who over the years were his consultants and introduced him to the depths of the art of important Bulgarian classical authors. He also shared his view that works of art should not be locked in safes, but should be exhibited to the delight of connoisseurs of fine arts.
Vezhdi Rashidov and Dimitar Pampulov also greeted the owner and the present guests. The Mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov thanked Dimitar Georgiev for his decision to invest again in the culture of Plovdiv, congratulated him on his efforts over many years in support of a number of socially significant causes and cultural projects and presented him with “Honorary Plaque of the Municipality Plovdiv “.
