On 11.04.2024, in Dimitar Georgiev Museum Gallery Plovdiv, an exhibition was opened under the title “Music has color and colors are sounds” of the participants of the recently completed National Youth Painting Competition, organized by the Association “Arts and Crafts”. The event was opened by the representative of the Association, Mr. Krasimir Georgiev, who thanked Eng. Dimitar Georgiev for Dimitar Georgiev Museum Gallery to host the ehcibition . The director of the Tsanko Lavrenov Art Gallery, Mr. Svetlozar Chavdarov, also noted that it is an honor for young artists to have their works presented alongside the greatest Bulgarian artists, who always bring a significant charge and stimulus for creative development. The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Plamen Itsov, presented diplomas and cash prizes to the students from the art schools: Danaya Kikiova from “Dimitar Dobrovich”, Sliven; Nona Tihomirova from “Tsanko Lavrenov” – second place and Jovana Koleva from the “Dimitar Dobrovich”, Sliven – third place, as well as four incentive prizes for the students: Iliyana Stoichkova from the “Tsanko Lavrenov” , Sabina Koshnigarova from “Dimitar Dobrovich”, Gergana Georgieva from NHG “Dimitar Dobrovich” and Daria Momchilova from “Princess Evdokia”. Sets of art materials were also given to the principals of the schools whose students participated in the competition.

The event was attended by students from art schools from Plovdiv, Sofia, Kazanlak and Sliven, directors and teachers, members of the public, gallerists and citizens. The guest of honor at the event was Prof. Venceslav Nikolov, who performed several musical pieces for the attendees with his 300-year-old cello.

Of the 40 works presented, selected by the jury for the exhibition, 12 paintings were purchased at the opening. The money will go to the charitable initiatives of the Arts and Crafts Association, as announced by the Association.

After April 21, the exhibition will be presented in the city of Kazanlak.
